Do you think...dog question?

My grandmother (I have to call her grammy... i know) who has a black scottish terrier. He has diabetis, and he is now completely blind, and old. I love him so much, his name is Andy. I used to play with Andy so much when I was little, and I cant bear the thought of losing him. Do you think he will die soon?
Since he has Diabetis, he drinks a lot of water meaning more pee. Grammy put a diaper on him so he doesnt do it in the house, but he has to be locked in the laundry room with newspaper on the floor. It is so sad.
And just because he is blind, his nose is pretty good still. When I visit, he knows im there.

DIABETES when managed correctly shouldn't really effect the length of the dog's life.

But if he is just living in a laundry room and is no longer with his family while he is blind - he is probably stressed out. If no one is willing to take care of him properly now, the most humane thing to do is to have him euthanized. The way he is living now is no life for a dog.
