Is a backpack with a zipper at the back of the bag (instead of a full side zip) very uncommon?

I found this vintage bag on ebay. It has a zip at the back for the large compartment, a half zip on the side for a small compartment, and the two straps can zip together. I'm mostly intrigued by the fact it has a zip at the back (so pickpockets can't steal from me). It's quite expensive, at about 40lbs, so I was wondering if it's worth it? Are these quite common in the vintage world or now?
And because the two straps zip together, you can wear it as a side backpack according to the seller. hmmm. so quirky.

Where can I find a laptop backpack for a 17" laptop?

Hey y'all. I'm trying to find a laptop backpack for my boyfriend but so far I've had very little luck finding one. All I know about his laptop is that it's a Dell XPS and it has a 17-inch screen. I tried to ask him what the dimensions of the laptop were but he kept telling me that you only need to know that it's a 17" screen so that didn't help me. I also know that he is pretty adamant about it being a backpack and not a messenger bag. My brothers have advised me to get a backpack from a nice company like Swiss Army or North Face.Do these companies even carry backpacks that can hold a laptop that large? What do y'all think about those companies or do y'all have any idea where I can get a nice backpack that will fit his brick?
