Is it safe to bring DVD discs on the plane?
I'm traveling via Emirates on Sunday, and I was wondering if putting DVD discs inside your bag and bringing them on the plane is safe. I heard rumors about DVDs getting ruined while being x-rayed. I don't know if it's true or not; it's not like I'm planning to watch them on the plane, I just don't want these discs crushed inside my baggages (the ones on cargo, not the ones I'm taking with me on the plane).
Every time I've brought CD's and DVD's they've been fine. If you're still worried when you get to security, ask a security guard (the ones who stand by the machine that you walk through to test the metal level), not the ones behind the x-ray machine, don't bother those guys. To keep them safer, make sure they are all in their own cases not just in a random pocket of your bag unprotected.
