Skidaddle Bags, Changing the Look of Diabetes One Bag at a Time

My personal experience with diabetes for almost 5 years now has been through my daughter's diagnosis. It was something I never thought I would have to deal with, and the road has been rough at times. My thought about living with diabetes is that although the condition is extremely challenging to live with, maintaining a positive attitude is the key to a more comfortable lifestyle—and happiness. It’s also important to educate yourself. I think diabetes became a lot less scary when I learned what it was all about.

I always like to recommend that families living with diabetes find a group or organization that understands first hand what living with diabetes is like. And it's important to have support for the entire family, since diabetes doesn't affect only the one who is diagnosed. We are also involved with two organizations that are working to find a cure. One of our favorite ways to raise money is an annual “Walk to Cure Diabetes” in our hometown. It has been rewarding in so many ways.

The ideas for my unique diabetes supply bag designs come from observing my family day-to-day. Because we live with diabetes I can easily see what works or what is missing, and customize bags for the needs of those with diabetes.  Skidaddle Bags offers a practical and positive approach by creating designs that appeal to people of all ages. Kids love the funky color combinations and adults love that they are more of a fashion accessory than the typical dull medical bag.

It is my goal to help people see that living with diabetes isn’t limiting, and carrying diabetes supplies doesn’t have to be stigmatizing. You can still go anywhere and do anything, and with my Skidaddle bags you can happily do it in style.
