what should my mom pack for the baby in the hospital bag?

the baby will be born in the middle of August in the north east in connecticut and the weather is unpredictable here what should my mom pack? is the baby hot if my mom is hot?

Your mom should check to see what the hospital provides. If she hasn't had a hospital tour it would be a good idea to do so. Most, but not all, hospitals provide everything for the baby while in the hospital. This includes diapers, which are usually name brand such as Pampers. No need to pack any diapers unless you live a very long way from the hospital or the hospital doesn't provide them. In most cases, everything in the baby's bassinet gets to go home with you as all they do is throw it out if you don't take it. So, diapers, wipes, vaseline, alcohol swabs, etc are all yours to keep. So are pacifiers and any bottles of formula. The t-shirts, hats, and blankets are not usually all yours to take home, but if you take 1-2 no one will say anything. Your new brother or sister is just going to need a going home outfit such as a sleeper and perhaps a receiving blanket. A full packed diaper bag is not going to be needed and there will be so much stuff to take home from the hospital as it is. If mom is hot it is not necessarily guaranteed that baby is hot, but a good rule of thumb is to dress baby in as many layers as you are wearing. The baby will go right from the front door of the hospital into the car so no need to worry excessively over the weather. At home it'll be from the car to the house. In the hospital the baby will most likely be dressed in a diaper and long sleeved t-shirt (not a onesie) then swaddled in a receiving blanket. A lightweight long sleeved footed sleeper is fine for babies come home from the hospital. I wouldn't go too fancy simply because those early days of bowel movements commonly ooze right out of the diaper and on to whatever cutesie outfit the baby is in as well as on whoever is holding the baby.
