How can I tell if a Chanel bag is real?

I went to a thrift store today and OMG there was a navy blue, quilted leather Chanel bag. It had the logo real big on the front and medium sized on the bottom of the bag. There is also a tassle on the side of the bag. On the metal piece holding the tassle together, there is a small Chanel logo. It has one interior pocket, and the bag is made of an extremely soft leather.

Do I have a real Chanel bag?
By the way, I was reading up on it a little bit and it sounds like the lining matters quite a bit. The inside of my bag is black leather.
You say because it is from a thrift shop it is not real. I would generally agree with you, but the thrift store I got this from is more of a vintage shop and it is in an extremely nice, rich area. But just because it is from this kind of area doesn't mean its real either.
It was more of a tote with a zipper along the top. There was no number inside of it, but it was a used bag so someone could have easily cut it out.

You have to research the bag or take it to a Chanel counter to have them tell you if it is real or not. It doesn't sound like it is a real bag, but there are awesome guides on ebay to finding out if the Chanel bag is real or not.
