Bag Tote Traveler
Any ideas or recommendations for keeping a carry-on bag secured to a rolling suitcase?
I usually travel with one checked bag (rolling suitcase) and a carry-on (small tote bag). I sling the tote bag handles over my rolling suitcase handle, and as soon as I start to move, the tote bag always seems to swing off to the side and cause both bags to topple over. (I almost killed myself on an escalator at the airport last year when the two bags went in separate directions and just about knocked me down the steps.)
For those experienced travelers out there, are there any products that will keep the one bag securely on top of the other so it doesn't swing to the side? I, of course, need some kind of strap that would be able to pass security regulations, because I would keep it in my carry-on.

Try pulling the straps of the tote bag over the handle of the suitcase, then twisting them, much like you'd twist a hair band when doing your hair in a ponytail. It keeps them together while you go through the airport (either to check the big suitcase, when you'd carry the tote after that; or if your suitcase may be roll-aboard size, in which case you'd leave it on top 'till you got to the gate.
As for the strap- do you mean a luggage strap for your big suitcase that you're checking? If it locks, make sure it's TSA approved, and put it on at home. You can still twist your tote bag handles around the suitcase handles while walking from parking- check in or whatever.
