How to count the black lines on a veterinary syringe?

what does each black line stand for on a veterinary syringe to give oral liquid medication to a pet? I know some come in 1cc, 3cc,5cc,10cc,12cc, etc. How will I know what each black line stands for numerical on each TYPE of syringe? if anyone also has any good websites educating one on this please send it my way. I would also love any information anyone could give me regarding this. Thanks!
