The Longest and Most Warm Skiing Park in the World – Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan China

Being the most north snow mountain in northern hemisphere, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is located at an altitude of above 4000 meters with the total area of 960 square km., stretching from south to north with 35 km. length and 25 km. width.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is world famous for its steepness, oddness, beauty and comeliness with magnificent exterior and exquisite interior. With the seasonal changes and the conversion of cloudy and sunny day, the Jade Dragon sometimes disappeared in the cloud. Now and then, the blue sky above the mountain is like pure water, mirroring the peaks so dazzling, and sometimes, the snow mountain shined by the sunglow looks like a Sleeping Beauty wearing red voile, extremely delicate and charming.  

Located in the northwest of Lijiang city in Yunnan province of China, Steep Fan, the main peak of the snow mountain, has the lowest latitude in the northern hemisphere and the highest altitude of 5596 meters in the world. The snow mountain is composed of 13 peaks, longitudinally arranged from north to south, forming the shape of 13 sharp swords, like a silver jade dragon flying eternally, hence getting another name of Jade Dragon Mountain. In addition, the lithology of the mountain is mainly limestone (white) and basalt (black), so it's also known as Black and White Snow Mountain.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is so sacred in the heart of Naxi Minority and all ethnic groups in Lijiang city of Yunnan province, and the protector of Naxi Minority, "Sanduo" is the embodiment of the mountain. Lijiang holds an annual grand Sanduo Festival for commemorating Sanduo. It's easy for you to be fascinated by its glamorous landscape, mysterious legend and the virgin peak no one conquering till now.

In 1988, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was approved to be included in the list of the second batch of National Scenic Spots Area. On May 8 in 2007, it was formally approved as the National 5A-level Tourist Attraction.

Large areas of the snow sea form an excellent natural skiing park. According to the study of experts, it is the longest and most warm skiing park in the world.
