Black Filagree
Ive got a tattoo idea, just a few questions about composition and sizing!?

so my idea is quite busy so i know it will have to be farely big, it doesnt bother me, it will be my 1st professionally done tattoo but the size doesnt scare me!
I want to get it on the top of my back / bottom of neck area.
I want to get a big lightening bolt with either 1 big realistic skull or several small with some filagree around it and a single rose growing from the bottom of the lightening bolt.
Although i have though if having the skull / skulls at the bottom with the rose growing out of them to symbolise a new start.
If i was to have the rose at the top i have thought about having it dont in colour although i want the main tattoo in black and grey. To make it really stand out the rose would be in red against the grey wash background.
Im guessing this tattoo would need to be relativley big, althoug dont want it too big. If you were getting this tattoo / doing it how big eg tall and wide would you make it?

I can see your point, like when I went to the tattoo artist I had my design drawn up but he told me it was way to intricate for the size I wanted and so had to drop some detail...
Your idea sounds very unique and interesting, it sounds as though it would have to span almost the entire top half of your back, if you have all the detail you would like (especially if you go with the filagree idea) or you coud drop some detail and have it smaller in more of a stencil form but I dont think that would really look right with this design, your choice though.

Is it okay to wear a black dress with a white design on the skirt to a wedding?
I have a very pretty halter dress that is black with a white filagree design on the skirt. I was going to wear it with black hose, shoes and a coral shaw to an evening wedding and wanted to know if it was okay.

I am in Ohio. Our days temps are in the 70s and this is a evening wedding.. The shaw is silk and very up scale, not a knitted or crochet bulky one like my grandmothers. Maybe I should say it is more like a wrap/scarf.
Sure! I have worn a black/white patterned dress to a wedding before and saw lots of people in similar outfits!
Perhaps stay away from white shoes though!
