Anyone seen black & brown particles in baby formulas?

We've been using Similac Advance with Iron mainly and didn't really notice until now... that we are seeing sometimes tiny dot like black & brown particles settling down in the bottom of the bottle after mixing the formula. Sometimes they're quite big... almost like a strip that was scraped off of a metal. I saw it about a month ago, but I ignored it thinking that it was just something I did while I was preparing it, but it's not. I've tried different kinds of water (filtered, bottled, etc..etc..), tried different size cans from a grocery market to Costco... but all the same. I've heard sometime last year there was a recall on Enfamil. Anyone has any idea? I need to go get me a strong magnet to confirm whether they're metallic objects or not.

Consider using ready-to-feed or liquid concentrate formulas. Powdered formula is not sterile.

I would also call the FDA and mention your concerns.

How long befor they poo normal?

Ok my baby is 2 days old. She has pooped about 3 times today and its still the black dark green tar like stuff. She is on similac. I cant breast feed ;( . So my question is when will she poo a normal color?

i think my son's bowel movements became more seedy and yellow on about day 4
