how can i decorate a fireplace mantel with a window above it? the mantel is also 31 inches deep!!!?

this is in a newly built home. the gas fireplace is "boxy" and protrudes into the room 31 inches. the bottom of the window is only a few inches above the mantel. it's such a big space and whatever is on the mantel will also be in front of the window, I want to get the scale right.

Whatever you place on your mantle, is going to have to look good from both sides. So I would start with buying three pillar holders (three different sizes) and three pillars to place on them. Get the colors that coordinate with your room color. The holders can be wood or metal, whichever you prefer. The pillars are not to burn necessarily, just for decoration. A quality silk floral arrangement would soften the look and then some vases of different heights would also unify the look. The vases need to be made of the same material, either metal or glass. I would also lay garland amongst your items on the mantel. I don't mean pine garland, but rather beaded garland or a summery soft greenery with leaves and possibly little flowers. Bend it around your display, kind of like a river would flow (S-shaped). This display should look nice from inside the house as well as outside through the window. Good luck!!!

Is my Guppy close to having her fry?

my female guppy has a dark gravid spot it has not stretched down to the bottom of her body yet but its very dark and large. she is boxy looking, and is treading water near my heater, where as my other guppies are all very active (as usual) my question is is she close to giving birth?
i have a breeding trap and an extra tank for the fry also.
i know they eat the fry.
any nice answers are appreciated!!

When she is this size she will give birth any time, put her in the breeder trap then, but be very gentle while moving her, because if she gets stressed she will either give birth premature and give birth to dead babies or not give birth at all.
