Boutique Market Style
Marketing Question - How do I sell more shoes?
I have a boutique and sell handbags and shoes. I have about 30 styles of shoes along one wall in my shop. I have one shoe on a shelf with the boxes underneath. The problem ios that people don't seem to want to look at the shoes. They don't really go over to that one wall and instead stand in one place and just kind of take a fast glance. My shoes are very reasonably priced ($19.95) and most people who do look at them comment on how great the price is. Any tips on improving my shoes sales. Should I be displaying differently? Or should I try a coupon in the newspaper (Any shoes $9.95 with ad, limit 1, expiration date) to get them moving? I don't want to get stuck with old shoes. I may lose a little money but I could write it off as an advertising expense and get people to notice my store.
Along with what others are saying above, get some signs made ... or just lettering for your windows ... to create "Buzz" ... give yoru windows a new look just for a while. Vinyl is easy enought to remove.
