London, a city whose history dates back to over 2000 years, is now one of the most significant cultural and financial capitals in the world. It all started back In 1908 with the Fourth Modern Olympic games were hosted and indeed the British team dominated the medal count. It was also the prestigious venue to the 1944 and 1948 Olympics and now after 64 long years London once again holds the honour to host the Olympics in 2012.

One of the major developments concerning this is the construction of new venues and putting that plan into action is the regeneration of Stratford, historically Stratford Langthorne, in Eastern London and converting it into a major location for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
