How to Apologize for a BIG mistake??

Okay, so last week me and my friends were gonna prank this kid in our class. Ive talked to him a few times so i thought it would be ok. we all pooped in a brown paper bag (like a groceery bag) and lit it on fire and rang the doorbell (classic), but he wasnt home so i had to stomp it out and the excrement went everywhere (all the porch, door, etc.) and the fire only burnt his welcome mat, but it looked terrible. I dont know how to begin to apologize for what I did, and I need only serious answers. thanks.
