Brown Diapers Wipes

Is this normal? my baby's poop feels like it has salt in it?

My daughter is 9 months old, the past 3 days her poop has been very loose, basically brown water, and it feels like someone poured salt in her diaper. I don't know why it feels like sandpaper when I wipe her. I've actually had to get a warm wet washcloth just to get her clean. She screams and I know it has to hurt. This morning I changed her diaper and her private area is broke out with big red bumps and is completely red, but her bottom is mostly clear. She's never had a diaper rash, so I'm not what to do. Do I take her to the doctor and let him look at it? I haven't given her any new food or drink, so it can't be an allergic reaction. I've been putting destin on her. She doesn't seem to have a temperature and she's not whiny. but the grainy/salty texture of her poop has me wondering what would be causing it.

The rash sounds like a yeast infection. You can use Monostate cream 3 times a day. if that doesn't work, then the doc will give you a steroid cream to use.
As for the salt thing, does she eat a lot of oats like breads and cheerios? Oats can make their poop look like sand or salt is mixed in with it. Because she has had diarrhea for 3 days now, I would make a call into the doctor, because she might have a stomach bug.

Air Travel With Baby: A Big Challenge For Mommies

When you are traveling with your baby, it is of utmost importance to have a plan ahead for the flight can be one of your toughest challenges when traveling with a baby.

All airlines offer pre-boarding for passengers with children. Take advantage of this, to give you extra minutes to settle yourself and your child on the plane as well as to relax and take a breath.

Your baby bag containing diapers, feeding bottles, wipes, blanket, baby clothes and plastic bags for trash should be easily accessible. Use a smaller bag for these items so that you could either stow it on the overhead compartment or underneath your seat for easy access. An ideal seat for mothers would be the aisle seat so that you could easily walk back and forth the aisle (when safe to do so) when your baby begins to fuss.

Don't rush off the plane if it isn't necessary. Let the other people disembark first. In this manner you won't have to stand in a slow moving line with your baby on one hand and carry on luggage on the other.
