What could it mean if my female cat has brown/black dots around her nipples?

A cat meowed at the back door of me and my boyfriend's apartment late one night so we let it in and we believe it is female. A few weeks after we took her in we noticed she had gained a lot of weight, which we figured could be because she was a stray and now shes eating cat food regularly. Then I also noticed she has little dots around each of her nipples and I wasn't sure if anyone knew if that was a sign of pregnancy or not.
