So.. When is it safe to put the bumper pad inside my babies crib?

She is going on 3 months and has just recently went from the pack n play in our room to her crib in her room.. when (and I mean in months of age not 'when she can roll over') is it typical to put the bumper pad in the crib.. I hear so much about the chance of suffocation I want to be sure it's safe to play it in.

I would skip them all together - once baby's start rolling easily they are less of a danger . . . BUT once the baby starts pulling themselves up into a standing position, they can use them to stand on and fall out of the crib. Happened to my son - he wasn't even walking or cruising and he managed to fall out of his crib by getting himself up on the bumper.

At that point, we lowered the mattress as low as we could and switched to breathable bumpers - no risk of suffocation and they collapse when any weight is placed on them. Keeps their arms and legs in the crib.
