Baby quilt. Can I have your opinion about these colors?
I am making a baby quilt with "cowboy colors".
Deep brown
Canberry
Rich gold
Medium hunter green
These fabrics make up a four patch and have slightly different patterns but all of them have a Swede look. (100% cotton)
They will be off-set with a medium light swede looking green. (This gives it a very "cheery" up-beat look)
I think it looks very sharp, but my daughter thinks it looks too "old" for a baby.
Do you think I should make one with common little boy colors instead? Just needing some opinions. I know its hard without actually looking at it, but .........tell me what you think.

It sounds like you have a great eye for colors which work well together.
Who is the quilt for? Your daughter's son, or someone else? Although the primary concern should be whether the child will like it, in reality mothers often decide how children's rooms will be accessorized, and what will be packed away. I can imagine many mothers would be delighted to have something a little different for their child, particularly if they were into a western theme. There would also be mothers who wouldn't care for it.
As for the baby himself, although children have a reputation for being attracted to bright colors, they also get attachments to a variety of things that don't fit into a preconceived mold. I can imagine a little boy being very grateful, as he grew older, that his "lovey" didn't have "baby colors", so it wasn't something he had to hide away and be embarrassed about when friends came over.
Finally, there are the intangible qualities you're putting in to it - love and time. No matter which color scheme you use, those qualities will come shining through, and those are the most wonderful gifts of all.
