Why my baby bottom gets diaper rash cream accumulation?

Our 1 week old baby has diaper rash and we're using balmex/desitin. It seems to be working, but since we started applying the cream. We noticed that a little bit accumulates from chance to change taking a yellowish color due to her stool very close to her anus. Is that normal? What should we do?

You will get cream accumulating no matter what you use. Just try to use it sparingly.
