U.S. researchers found that so-called "Trial Pack" in the cosmetics counters hidden a variety of bacteria and viruses, which may enable the people infected with E. coli or suffer from conjunctivitis and other diseases. Daily Mail cited the words of Elizabeth Brooks, research leaders and professor of Biology from Pennsylvania, Jefferson Medical College in the United States, which reported that whenever you saw the E. coli, you should think E. coli is equal to fecal, that means that someone didn't wash their hands after going to toilet, then put their fingers into the cream. It was alarming that the E. coli and herpes simplex virus were found in the trial installation of all cosmetics tested by the researchers. The symptom of E. coli patients were stomach pain, diarrhea, severe and even life-threatening. Herpes simplex virus enable people infect sores lips. In addition, the researchers also found Staphylococcus and Streptococcus in cosmetics Trial Pack.
Brooks' research team spent two years on collecting the face, eyes and lips cosmetics from the counters in department stores, boutiques, and beauty stores. Then they extracted cosmetics sample and analyzed the bacteria and viruses. Study found that more than 67% of all cosmetic products were infected with different degree. The bacterial infection rate of samples of cosmetic products collected on Saturday was 100%. Because Saturday is usually the busiest shopping day of the largest customers, cosmetics Trial pack also most vulnerable to contamination. The researchers suggested that when consumers try out cosmetics, they should firstly clean the equipment surfaces with a paper towel dipped in alcohol. If you want to try out emulsion, choose the products which do not need a finger dipped in it. If you want to try out lipstick, you can use disposable cotton swabs instead of using public makeup brush.
