Should I bring my tote bag or just a purse on the first day of school?

I'm in high school(junior), and at my high school, you don't get your school supplies list until the first day of school. So all I'm gonna bring to school is a notebook and a pen. Should I bring my tote bag or just a purse? And also, I got my bag from hollister. Is that weird, because I'm in 11th grade?
