I have two grandsons who have a room in my home. The oldest is 8 and the baby is 16 months. For 7 years the?

room looked pretty good, blue and cherry red colors, denim blue walls, buck beds with blue covers and cherry red pillows, oak furniture, cherry red blind with blue striped top curtain. Old willow chests painted blue and cherry for toys. Lots of plush dogs. Now the baby is here and the room can't look too babyish, but the older child has different interest...... Any ideas?
ps the room is only 12 x12 with one window. Hopeless?

1] store the plush animals in a tub somewhere in room [ underbed, in closet? ] Leave one on younger guys bed.
