Should I get a Macbook Air if I rarely go out?

I really like the sleek, beautiful design of the Macbook Air and it's aluminium unibody. The Macbook Pro is too expensive, but I can afford the Macbook Air & White Macbook. I've heard the White Macbook's plastic scratches a lot & get's dirty easily. Most people who buy Macbook Air's are frequent travellers, but I rarely leave my house. I really do like it's thin and small size though, aswell as the design. Should I get it? Thanks.

No. That added thinness and small size won't be much of an advantage for what you're losing as a result. The white Macbook is much faster and has an optical drive, and you get much more hard drive space. The Macbook Air's main advantages are the aluminum shell, the SSD (faster bootups, but you get much less space), and the thinness. The last one isn't much of an advantage if you're not carrying it around a lot.

Also seriously consider the Pro. A refurbished 2010 model won't run you much more than the baseline Air, and 2009 model is actually cheaper than either of them. The casing is tougher and won't scratch as easily since it's aluminum.
