Dot Trim

PHP Delete last character if dot?

Hello. I have this code:
$labels = explode(",", $_POST['labels']);
foreach($labels as $val) {
$val = trim($val);
mysql_query("INSERT INTO TABLENAME (name, cat_id) VALUES ('".mysql_real_escape_string($val)."', '$cat')");
}
As you understood it user's labels function. Every label inserted separately (separated by comma).
I want to check if last character in the input form of labels is dot- so user means that this is the end of his list of labels. So how do i check in such construction the last character and if it's a dot - remove?
already tried substr...doesn't work

substr($yourstring, -1) is the last character of the string.

 Open integrated converter

Launch Socusoft Web Video Player and click "Convert" on the upper right side to open the integrated converter.

Add video in batch/ Capture video from DV/Import video from Internet

Go to File -> Add Video Files. Choose the video that you need to edit. If you need to convert videos in batches, choose "Batch Add Video Files". You can also capture Video from DV by choosing "capture Video from DV" when necessary. You can even import videos from Internet from the menu options.

Edit Video (video size, video bitrate, audio bitrate and more)

The lower right window displays the settings for the selected video files. You can customize the properties of the output files here such as output duration, video size, video bitrate and audio bitrate.

 Click "Add Video" to add video files. In video list area of the main window, press the Ctrl or Shift button to choose video files that that you need to merge. Then right click on them and choose Merge Output. After that, click "Encode" button to start video merge.

 Tips: You can hold the click and drag the file to change the order when you need to change the merged order. If you need to cancel the merging, you can right click on the file list and choose Unmerge Output.

Different audio formats such as mp3, wav, wma, m4a, ogg, aac, amr and mp2 are listed on the drop-down menu, some of which are customized. Choose the audio format that you need. After that, click "Encode" button to extract audio.
