How to sew an expandable pocket into my handbag?

i am making a tote like hand bag i want a pocket it in that has a little more room then a flat pocket. i have a patteren for pockets but it leave a raw edge and i don't want that. one pocket will be a double and the other will be just a single. so i know both are different in being made. if u know of any video links that would be great. thanks for your time and have a great day. oh and it is double layer that is quilted together so i cant put it on the liner. thanks again.

Make it as a separate pocket applied to a piece of fabric hemmed to the pocket size, then handsew to the interior of the tote.

(BTW, it's MUCH much easier to put pockets in totes when they're still flat and not yet sewn.)
