Fabric Tote Bag

I have a tote bag that has a silk screen design on it. Is there a way I can cover this with another design?

Basically it's a bag that was going to be thrown away. I want to cover the front of it with another design. Friend of mine says an iron-on would not be enough. It's a heavy duty canvas fabric. What can I use to place my own design on top of the design on the bag?

If you want to do the iron-on transfer, do so on cloth.

Sew or fabric glue it to the tote.

Add trim around the edges.........whatever you like.
