Insulated Coolers Ice
WHAT lS THE BEST WAY TO INSULATE ICE?
For my biology class, we have to prevent some ice in a small plastic cup from melting (melt the least).
I was just wondering what things I could use around the house or buy at the store to make the best insulator?
*Can't use coolers or thermos things specifically designed to keep in cold/heat; I need something hand-made.
**I could probably use stuff from hardware stores; foam, etc.
From my high school, I can tell you that people often cover large ice bricks with sawdust to transport them commercially. Once they reach the destination, the ice is sprayed with water to wash away the saw dust.
Very little wastage of ice occurs this way.

For school we have a project where we have to make a box and line it with things then put and ice cupe inside it. But we can't use things like coolers or thermoses. What materials around the house help insulate?
