I have a white Betsey Johnson diaper bag. It is trimmed with leather. It was looking kind of grungy so I soaked it in oxiclean. I then hung it to dry. The brown from the leather bled into the white. I then put in the washer thinking in the rinse cycle it would get most of the water off and I could hang it to dry. It came out without the bleeding but I hung it out to dry, and once again the brown from the leather bled. I then brought it to the dry cleaner to see if they could do something. She said that she could not dry clean it but tried to steam it. Some of it came out, but it still looks like crap. The material is made of nylon, with the brown leather trim. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything I could use or do to make it look better?
Buy some Rit dye remover and carefully dab some on the stained area. Then, using an absorbant cloth, remove the unwanted dye from the area affected. This stuff works really good and is available at discount, department, grocery and drug stores.
