Why is the embroidered logo on polo shirts (i.e. R.Lauren, Lacoste, Abercrombie) always on the left breast?
I have never seen a shirt that has the embroidered logo over the right breast and, while I'm sure there are some, I still can't figure why the majority of shirts have the logo over the left breast. Anyone know?
Lacoste & RL put it there first & the rest just followed in suit. So usually all polos with a symbol put theres on the left breast because lacoste & RL did and they are more known "preppy" collection. And polos are preppy.

If I re-dye my fading black work shirt, do you think the embroidered logo will dye too? Anyone tried this?
The shirt is black cotton, and the logo is red and yellow, but I don't know what it's made of. I'm not going to get a company issued replacement and I don't want to spend $35 to replace it myself. I have more than one shirt, but this one is more faded and I got a couple of tiny bleach spots on it. I thought if anyone had any ideas or had tried this, then maybe I could experiment on this one shirt that's in the worst shape.
If you just throw the shirt into black dye than yes the loge will dye also. There's a process called batik that make patterns on fabrics using wax and dye, where ever the melted wax is placed the fabric doesn't dye, then you could hot iron on the reverse side of the logo to remelt the wax off.The trick is to prevent the logo from soaking up the dye. I'm not sure if that would work because I have never tried it. .I have just used a black permanent marker(or whatever color the fabric is) on the bleached spots and that works fine. Good luck.
