Whats a charging circuit look like?

Can someone tell me what a charging circuit looks like? I'm trying to find out why my NDS Lite can't charge and it was suggested I check the charging circuit.

The area between the USB port and the battery connector looks likely. Unless you the tools and ability to work with surface mounted parts and can troubleshoot without a schematic, there's probably not much you can do.
