Five Tips for a Monogram Themed Wedding
The first thing that must be settled by the bride and the groom during their wedding preparation is the wedding theme. There are a number of themes to choose from, but you still cannot make up your mind. Your groom is becoming impatient. Time is running. Why spend some time thinking? In a monogram themed wedding, you see the initials of the bride and the groom. Isn’t it lovely? Love is surely showering every corner of the place because of the letters in each wedding piece. But, how do you go about the whole process? Here are the seven tips.
1. Have everything monogrammed- from table napkin, cake slicer, spoon and fork, plates, centerpiece, to wedding cake. The list is too many. Try as many as you can - but do not overdo it. Or else, your visitors will not appreciate it anymore.
2. In monogramming, the initial of the bride goes first. If she takes the last name of the groom already, the order should be, the first name initial of the bride, the groom’s last name initial (make this letter larger than the initials of the bride and the groom) and the groom’ first name initial. What if the bride takes her own last name? Have a four-initial monogram: the bride’s first and last name initials and the groom’s first and last name initials.
3. You may also opt to write your names instead of initials. Join them through an ampersand. It is still the name of the bride that goes first.
4. Choose fancy fonts. Do not choose fonts that are too tiff for a wedding. Have the fonts colored according to your wedding color(s), too.
5. It is a common mistake of the bride and the groom to have their initials in the wedding invitations. For a monogram wedding, it is better for the initials to be seen during the wedding reception. This will formally symbolize the oneness of their hearts and souls.
6. You may opt to design your own monogram. You can do it in your own personal computer, have it printed and submitted to whoever it is you choose to make the monogrammed items.
7. You may also choose to have your wedding date included in some of the monogrammed items.
At the end of the day, make sure you have a piece of each monogrammed item for souvenir. By doing so, you are keeping a part of the momentous occasion in your life.
