Cotton Muslin blankets – where can you find the best ones for swaddling?

Personally I didn't like the cotton ones for swaddling as they didn't have any give to them and got unwrapped easily. I used a cotton waffle weave blanket and it worked fine. They also sell swaddling blankets with velcro tabs. They worked like a charm for my 2nd daughter but my son could get right out of his every time. I think he was a much longer baby.

Swaddle blankets or baby blankets – what’s the difference?

Sometimes this is simply a case of parents needing a little practice learning something new – but other times the problem is having the wrong “tool” for the job. Properly swaddling a baby without a blanket designed for swaddling can be difficult and potentially dangerous.

Material – Swaddle blankets often feature specially designed fabric that prevents overheating and stretches when necessary. The best blankets will feature specialty fabrics such as muslin cotton which allows air to flow seamlessly through the material to help regulate temperature.

Pediatric research suggests that swaddling your infant for the first few months makes for an easier transition from the womb and can greatly reduce fussiness in babies who take more time to adjust to their new surroundings.
