Navy Weekend Diaper

My Military ex fiance is not supporting his son and refusing to take him what can i do??

My ex-fiance is in the Navy (naval base in Washington state) and we had a verbal agreement that he would watch our 14 month old on the weekends as well as help me finacially(we have a notarized agreement he would pay for my car and insurence inexchange for child support) he said he would give me extra money for diapers and food, well he has refused to do so and i dont know who to contact to get someone to talk to him. I just found out he deploys in 3 weeks and i want the baby to spend time with him before he leaves. PLEASE i need help I honestly dont know how to go about this.

As for child support, go file for child support and they will automatically garnish his wages. You will be sent a check each month by the government and you will not have to deal with him regarding whether or not he is living up to his word and paying you child support. If your concern is that they might take more money from him than he can afford, ask about settling for a certain amount that you can both agree on, but still have his wages garnished for that set amount. Personally, I think the child should be getting whatever he/she is entitled to.

If he is refusing to spend time with his child that's his loss. I don't personally think you should force your child on him because he/she deserves to have people in their life who love them and want to be there for them. Someday he may realize what a jerk he's being and start wanting to be a dad, but you cannot force him to grow up and be a father to your child. That is something he will have to learn on his own. If you force him to take your child right now when he's not willing, who knows how he might treat the child when you're not around. He may resent having to give up his weekends and treat the child badly, lose patience easily, etc.
