What material are most US flags made out of?

Specifically, the standand flagpole, blowing in the wind flags, not necessarily those little stiff ones people wave. Try as I might, I'm finding it difficult to get any straight answer on this. Is is cotton? Polyester? Nylon?

And what was/were the first American flags made out of? You know, like the Betsy Ross type flags. Cotton?

100 percent Dupont Solarmax Nylon , I have no idea on old Aunt Bessies flag.

Bag Filters

You are probably using a filter, but it’s probable you are unaware they come in many different shapes and sizes, one being in the version of a bag filter.  Many applications use filtration bags as a normal utility.

Liquid bag filters are generally used as a less costly way to take out mammoth solids from distinct applications. These applications can be coolant filtration, paint strainers; a variety of liqid pre-filter applications, and ink filtration.

There are many different bag filter options. They normally come in 2 forms, welded and sewn, and each has several specific end configurations. Standard bags are the most frequently used application of bag filters, but many custom bags are out there for a variety different filtering desires and applications.

Which type of filter bag you choose depends on the application. Temperature, chemistry, and particle size all take a part in the decision process when choosing one. A large number of filter bags are made from polypropylene felt, so that is a great place to begin.  Many people will go with polyester felt for extreme temperature applications. For the most demanding forms, you should use absolute rated nylon mesh, or NMO.

If you find yourself buying a bag filter and not getting the endurance of the bag you’d like, it’s probably because you’ve misjudged the workload of the filter. A very difficult working filter has its life abbreviated, and is not determined by hours used or gallons processed. Bags that filter clean water could last as long as a year, while one filtering mud could last as little as a hundred seconds. It all requires the application. Also, a new bag may appear fresh to a standard viewer, but in the closer view of a microscope, it may be dirtier than first imagined.

To know when to change bags, identify the inlet pressure. As its surface area is used up, the pressure grows across the bag. When the pressure rises faster, the bag is used up and should be changed. Bags don’t have a normal rule, but generally, you should switch bags when you see an 8-12 PSI drop.
