Why is there red/black jelly like substance on my pad when i get my period?

On one day, there was some blood on my pad but after a could of days like 3-4 days, there was more blood and on my tampon, i found red/black jelly like substance. Is this normal? Why does this happen?
Also, my stomach has been hurting for a while maybe 20 min. and it doesnt feel like the cramps you usually get. I did not get pregnant and am a virgin. I am 14 years old and got my period 3 or 4 months ago. Thanks
