Can I ship a small item (Victorias secret Pink plush toy dog to be exact) in an already used box?

what I mean to say is, I sold it on amazon, can I use a used box that has some writing on it if I cover it up with paper? Or could I use a giant padded envelope perhaps? I am new to this whole shipping thing so please advise, thanks!
also, the box has a logo on it, do i need to cross that out too? i was able to pull off the shipping stickers and writing

You can use an already postmarked box if you take a black marker and cross out any previous shipping information. The shipper (UPS or USPS or Fed-Ex) will simply look at whatever label they apply when you ship it.

Take the dog and wrap it in some bubble wrap or in some newspapers, or tissue paper and then put it in the box.

A padded envelope would probably not be as good as the puppy might get smooshed.
