How many diaper bags do you have?

I'm just curious how many diaper bags you take when you go out. My friend has a 6 month old baby and she brings along four bags! One with the bottles and formula (not mixed yet, of course), rice cereal, another bag with diapers, wipes, a change pad, etc., another one with toys, one of them has some outfits, and lastly, she brings her purse. This seems like an awful lot to me, am I just crazy? She only comes for about five hours or so. We kind of laugh about it, but she says that seriously, she has no doubt that I'll have this many bags when I go out. I just can't see that as probable.

On a sort of side note, what do you pack in your diaper bag?

I've always travelled light with one bag. I have a few books and toys attached to the pram, a few nappies, pack of wipes, snacks, drinks, bibs, cutlery and my bits stuffed neatly in one pretty small bag. I used to take a change of clothes, but that didn't last long. I breast fed at first and I think you tend to get used to travelling lighter as you don't have to pack up bottles & formula. When I changed to formula I was used to having less so just used to chuck a bottle in and go.

It doesn't really matter and I think it just depends on the type of person you are. The best thing you can do though is to keep your bag/s filled ready to pick up at a moments notice, so you can just grab & go.
