Red Diaper Bag Yeast diaper rash or just a diaper rash?
How can I tell the difference between a diaper rash caused by yeast or just a diaper rash? It is just on his butt and hasn't spread anywhere else. It's very red and some of the dots look like little blisters. He has had diarrhea since yesterday when the rash appeared. Also, I ran out of diaper cream, but I do have bag balm. Could I use that instead?
It definitely sounds like a yeast rash.They get real red and they get little blisters. To look at it ,it looks very painful to the baby or child. Use your baby bath tub and put warm water and use epsom salt in the water.Let your washcloth fill with water and squeeze the water so that it will reach his bottom.When you finish soaking lay him down and blot his butt dry. If you are out of cream I would use cornstarch on his butt and the bottom of the diaper and close it up.Yeast rash are not so easy to clear up,sometimes the diaper cream just won't do it, so you might need to call the pediatrician for a special ointment,or make an appointment.Good Luck! hope you have a well baby soon.

Amtrak travel with a baby?
After driving down to Chicago with my mom for a visit, I will be coming back to Red Wing, MN (about a seven hour trip) on Amtrak with my son, who will be 8 1/2 months old. It has been a while since I've ridden on Amtrak, so I have a few questions. Will I be able to get him on and off the train in a stroller? I will be bringing his umbrella stroller for the trip, and will also have to bring his car seat onboard, along with two bags, one of which will be a diaper bag. Red Wing has no baggage assistance available, and no checked bag service, so I'm wondering about how hard getting off the train with him and all this stuff will be. My husband will be picking us up at the station, but I'll have to get us off the train on my own, as far as I know.
Any advice would be great!
The conductor and car attendant will be there to help you when getting on and off the train. They will most likely store your sons car seat and stroller downstairs after you are finished with them. Amtrak employees are top notch when it comes to stuff like that.
