Autumnal Style for Your Home

As the weather becomes a little colder and the nights draw in, you might be spending more time indoors than outside. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the best of everything autumn has to offer and there are plenty of ways to bring a little taste of this season into your home.

If you don’t fancy making any lasting changes to your home then look for accessories that add a touch of autumn to your living space.

In the dining room you could look for a table runner in autumn hues and if you feel creative then you could even make your own autumn centrepiece for the dining table. Brightly coloured leaves, berries and rose hips, nuts, acorns and pine cones are all perfect things to seek out.

If you like the idea of using plants and flowers to brighten up your dining table then you could opt for trailing vines as these tend to turn red and burnt orange in colour during autumn. Late autumn flowers in golden yellow, orange and deep red colours are perfect so keep your eyes peeled for gerbera or sunflowers.

Any items you’re sourcing yourself should be picked when dry and then all you need to do is start arranging. Trim any brown patches or ragged edges from leaves and cover a bowl or platter with them. You can then place whatever you wish on top of the leaves, from acorns and nuts to pine cones and berries.

Autumn-coloured napkins will add a finishing touch to your dining table, and candles add a touch of ambience whatever the time of year.
