1st Birthday Elmo/Sesame Street theme?

My sons 1st birthdays is coming up soon and Im buying things now. He will be 1!! EVerything is going to be sesame street/elmo. Im ordering his cake and having decorations. My question is:::is he too little to have a pull string pinanta? He can pull the strings and there will be other kids there also. AND should I do little goody bags?(Or is it not needed at all) With little things in them? I know he's only 1 but this is his 1st birthday and its a big deal. Thanks

i didnt bother with party favors since the age range of kids at the party was broad, and we didnt have games since the kids were entertained with my sons toys, a bubble machine I had out back and with each other, but that's just me! if your mind is set on the pinata maybe let it be for the older kids only since a 1 yr old wont understand it yet.

Elmo from Sesame Street?

Why does Elmo always refer to himself in 3rd- person? In other words, instead of saying "I want a cookie." Elmo would say "Elmo wants a cookie." Or, instead of "That's my blanket!" Elmo would say, "That's Elmo's blanket!" You know what I mean? Is that just a creative schtick, or am I right when I propose that perhaps it is a clever marketing tactic by Sesame Street to get kids to remember Elmo's name?
