Temple Garland
Temple Garland
Does anyone know what kind of Thai flower garland this is?

Thai people bring this garland to pray (Buddhism). Does anyone know what the top left corner garland is called in English and why it's significant to bring it to the temple when your praying? Thanks.

It may be a Thai Style Flower Garland made of Jasmine and Roses. See the site below. It may be an offering.

What's the accent of the 30's-60's referred to as?

It's very obvious when you watch a movie starring Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor or any other actress or actor of that era. What would that particular speaking voice be called? I haven't heard it a bit in modern times and wonder why it disappeared because it was such a sophisticated way of talking. I loved it.

People today don't care much about how they speak, they just get the words across any way they can.

Back in the 1930s and up until the 1960s, people were very careful about how they spoke; it wasn't just what you said, it was how you said it.

Also, you must remember that these are movies were are talking about. Just watch some of the movies with Temple, Garland and Taylor in them and pronounce the words like they do. You'll find it difficult to enunciate the words at first, but in time you'll grow to be much more sophisticated.
