Question about this Louis Vuitton bag I have??

My mom gave me an LV bag a while ago. Today I somewhat found it in my room and Ive been thinking about storing makeup in it for school? Its in perfect condition.!
So this is the description:
its a small carry around purse, light brown handle. it has the LV design all over it.
How do I know it's fake or not? Will people tell if its old and be like "whatever" or something, or if its a designer brand, then thats sweet? And can I bring it with me the first day of school, along with my hollister tote?
I've never really carried around purses, i just hold my phone.
Any advice??

If you are bringing an LV bag with a hollister tote.....errrr......i dont really know if that is a good idea it would be too much like a hollister tote on your shoulder and an LV bag on your arm.I wouldnt suggest it but do whatever you want.Its your life.
For the first day,i wouldnt bring it because you would kind of cause a scene,i remember i did bring a LV bag to the first day of 7 grade and there was such a scene!And everyone stares at you the whole day and they start spreading rumors about you,like 'oh look at that girl she is such a little brat and stuff'
so i wouldnt suggest it bring it like on the second week,that is what i would do.Or wait until you see people carrying around there totes and purses....
