Your Little Girl

PARENTS - how often do you buy toys for your little girl(s) ?
by little girls i mean aged 6- 12
also, what type of toys do they play/ collect? example - dolls, pretend makeup, coloring books, etc.
be specific please - example- dolls, mainly disney princess dolls. That would be specific.
thanks, moms and dads.
We mostly only buy toys at birthday or Christmas, and some at Easter. My dd is 7 and she likes My little pony, Breyer Horses, and American Girl Dolls. She also enjoys games and Littlest Pet Shop as well as dinosaurs and dragons. Sometimes she will play with Barbies.

Always Be Your Little Girl
Fairy Wings In The Eyes Of A Little Girl
For little girls fairy wings mean freedom and magic. They can carry you to a fantastic land filled with fairies and fun. My little princess loves to dress up with her fairy wings and her tutus and dresses and of course don’t forget the tiara dad. At two years old, she will ask me to put it on and then say “I go show mom.” She then runs off with a bashful grin on her face to see mom’s reaction. She absolutely loves to dress up and fairy wings are one of her favorite items.
As a young child I can remember the dress up closet at my aunt’s house. It was one of our favorite activities as children to go to the closet and put on all the old clothes and different costumes and outfits she had. We probably spent hour after hour with the boxes of clothes she provided for us and then of course spent many hours out in the pasture behind the house with the playhouse and climbing the trees imagining all sorts of wonderful worlds. This is a legacy I want to pass on to my children.
I think I would have to blame my creativity for my entrepreneurial zeal that has helped me see so much success in life. As I watch my little girl dance happily around in her fairy wings and tutus I know that she will grow up all too fast and I feel a great responsibility as her parent to help her establish herself well in this world. The time she spends with her “imaginary” friends and dressed up as a fairy will go by all too fast and hopefully it will leave her with great memories and creative abilities to confront life’s battlefield.
I can’t begin to imagine what is running through her head as she dons her fairy wings and flies off into her fantasy world. Perhaps she thinks of magical and mythical creatures that bring beauty to the world around her. Perhaps she imagines kingdoms and families different from ours or perhaps she simply imagines that her play time fairies co-exist with us here every day. Whatever it is that runs through her little head I can clearly see the smile it brings to her face and that is enough for me to desire to give her more opportunities to enjoy this play time.
How many times do you wish to have freedom from the stress of life and wish to just float away in a warm bath with no other worries? As adults we get too little relaxation and should seek more of the simple and fun relaxation techniques that children seem so easily to find. It seems that every experience is a wonderful and beautiful one for children. They are not held back by what they cannot do or what they cannot accomplish. The future is wide open and the options are all real to them. What a great world it must be for the little girl who can leave the world behind in an instant and become something magical.
